Fact: We all have 24 hours in a day.

Fact: Some people succeed more than others.

Question: Why?

Answer: Because they MAKE the time to do so.

You may be thinking, “Scott, there is more to it than that.” True. Sometimes breaks go to one person instead of another. Sometimes Timing has a lot to do with who succeeds more. A few times some people just get lucky.

But at the end of the day, USUALLY the reason why some people succeed (at anything, not just financially) is that they CHOOSE to make it a priority. They CHOOSE to delay gratification. They CHOOSE to sacrifice in the short term, in order to succeed to a larger level in the long term.

When I was building a network marketing business, the number one “reason” (actually “excuse”) that I received from people who turned down my opportunity was, “I do not have time.”

That’s funny. I did not either, but I CHOSE to MAKE the time needed in order to succeed.

Let’s get real for a minute. Exactly when was the last time that you really, really wanted to do something that you ended up not doing because you “did not have the time”? You may not have had the money. You may not have had the vacation days, or could not find a sitter.

But not doing something because you “did not have the time” is very rarely the truth. Here is the real truth in my opinion:

You ALWAYS make the time to do the thing that you really, really want to do.

Think about it. When is the last time you heard someone say, “We really want to have children, but, gosh, we really do not have the time”? When did you last hear someone say, “I know that I have a family history of diabetes, but I just do not have the time to stop eating junk food”?

Like I said, time is just an excuse. It is never the reason.

Another way to look at the truth is this: when you truly want to do (or become, or have) something, it becomes a priority. You will MAKE the time in your life to accomplish your real priorities. You will always find excuses NOT to do the things that are NOT your true priorities. The key is determining what it is that you really want. What do you truly want to become your number one priority? Once you decide that – and then make it a top priority on which you consistently focus – you greatly increase your chances of finding the success you seek.

Decide today to QUIT using the Time Excuse. If it is not a priority, just tell the person (or yourself) that it is not a priority for you right now. Then DECIDE what your true calling is, work on it consistently, and then MAKE the time to succeed at it, and you will likely succeed.

You can do it. I believe in you.
