Here is a question for you:

What are your hours?

When you think about it, every traditional, brick-and-mortar business has Business Hours. Most post them on or beside their front door. When you call the business, many times you will get a recording with various prompts. Most of the time, one of the prompts will be for their Hours.

Why should your business be any different?

I know. You are probably thinking something like, “Well, Scott, I do my business in my spare time, so I never know how many hours I will have this week to work on my business.”

To quote the very wise Yoda from Star Wars, “…and THAT is why you FAIL.”

You see, if you are going to have a successful business, YOU have to DECIDE when you are going to build your business. YOU have to set your Hours every week – before the week starts. I understand that there will be times when something goes wrong, and you have to adjust. That is fine. Just adjust, and go on. That is no reason to attempt to build your business by the seat of your pants.

Look, without prior planning, here is what happened to me in my business. I would go through my week with great intentions, live my wildly crazy life, and then look back at the end of the week and realize that I basically did nothing for my business. Why? Because I had not yet learned the wisdom from this quote by Michael Hyatt:

“What gets scheduled is what gets done.”

Yes, there is more to Success than scheduling, but without scheduling, I will guarantee that you will not become nearly as successful as you could be otherwise.

So, here is my Call to Action: Set your Business Hours for this week, and do it TODAY. You will be amazed by how much more you will accomplish by doing it.
