Another Monday rolls around. Does that make you happy and excited, or bummed and bored? I know that you probably have heard this before, but, if you don’t like Mondays, try missing one! (In other words, every Monday is fantastic compared to being dead.)
Seriously, how Grateful are you – about anything? Gratitude does not get mentioned by many people anymore – especially in the news. All most people want to discuss is the negative: in politics, the economy, immigration, business, relationships – you name it. The truth is that life will get a lot better for you when you start looking at things in a positive light. Look, there will always be bad in the world. It does not take any special effort to see that.
But Gratitude: that takes your best effort sometimes. Occasionally it will come easily: when you get that raise, that good blood work report, or that good report card from your child. Anyone can be grateful when these things happen. I am challenging you to CHOOSE to be Grateful FIRST thing every day when you awaken. I read an article many years ago about this, and have done it virtually every day since: when you first wake up – even before you get out of bed – think of 10 things for which you are Grateful. Believe it or not, we ALL can do that. Right now that may sound hard for you. But if you truly sit down and reflect on the good things in your life, you will discover many more than 10. If you do not think so, here are just a few items that you may want to stop taking for granted (if you are), and be Grateful for them:

– You are alive.
– You have a God who loves you.
– You have a wonderful opportunity to restart your life starting
today if you so choose.
– You live in the best country in the world, in spite of
some challenges.
– You have some money in the bank.
– You are not homeless.
– You have some food to eat.
– You can read.

The list can go on and on. The question is: will you start to be Grateful every day from now on? I hope so.
Oh, yeah, one more thing. Did I mention that people want to do business with people who are Happy, Positive, and Grateful?
Go out and ,make this a fantastic day – even if you are reading this on a Monday.
I am Grateful for each and every one of you!
