(This is Part 2 in a 3-part series. Please see my post on May 8 for Part 1.)
Hopefully after reading Part 1, you have come to terms with Accepting Your Past. The second component that is required to discover the courage to dream Big Dreams is this:
Trust God to handle the Future.
Let me say this up front: I am a Christian. You do not have to be one in order to learn from this message. Should you not believe in God at all, that is your right. However, I have a message for you from Him:
He still believes in you!
Regardless of your Faith Walk, do you truly believe that you or I can know what the Future holds for us? I mean, it is great to have goals and dreams (and we should), but can any of us guarantee the success of our plans?
Me thinks not.
I don’t know about you, but when I finally turned everything about my Future over to God, man, did that feel great! I no longer sit around worrying about things like:
– my health
– the health of my family members
– our finances
– my career
– our safety
– where I and my family will spend Eternity.
Don’t get me wrong. There are moments of weakness when I start to be concerned, but then I – once again – release those things to Him. All I can do is what I can do today. Tomorrow is not promised anyway, so why worry about it? I heard this phrase years ago from Saint Augustine that has given me much comfort:
“Pray as though everything depended on God.
Work as though everything depended on you.”
Are you willing to start trusting God to handle your Future? I hope so. If you are not ready or willing to do that, I feel sorry for you. You are missing out on a whole lot of Peace: the Peace that passes all understanding. Remember, in order to discover the courage that you WILL NEED to make those Big Dreams come true, you need to be willing to do all three parts of the plan.
Give this item some thought, and – if you are truly willing to do both parts 1 and 2 – feel free to see my next post, which will complete this 3-Part Series.
You can do it. I believe in you!
